For professional polish and wax removal, the ideal microfibre cloth sits between 350–450GSM, offering the perfect balance of bite, absorption and surface safety. A short-to-medium pile in the 350–380GSM range provides the control needed for compound and heavier polish removal, while a slightly plusher 400–450GSM towel is ideal for lifting waxes, sealants and finishing polish residue without smearing.
Lower GSM cloths can redeposit product, while overly plush towels may feel grabby during initial wipe-off. Choosing a quality 350–450GSM microfibre ensures streak-free results, safer contact on modern clear coats and more efficient product removal across every stage of the detailing process.
