The acidic pH is not a compromise, it's the point of the product. Over time, even properly maintained coatings accumulate mineral deposits, water spots, and trace contamination from road grime, hard water, and atmospheric fallout. These deposits sit on top of the coating and progressively dull its hydrophobic behaviour, making water sheet off less aggressively and dirt cling more readily. Pre-wash:

1. Apply a snow foam pre-wash or rinseless pre-rinse to the vehicle to lift the heaviest dirt before contact washing.
2. Rinse thoroughly with water to remove loosened contamination.

Wash:

1. Pour 25 to 50ml of Shampoo Be Acid into a clean 10L bucket. Use the higher end of the range (50ml) for heavier soiling or when restoring an under-performing coating, and the lower end (25ml) for routine maintenance washes.
2. Fill the bucket with water from a pressure hose to generate foam.
3. Wash the vehicle by hand using a quality wash mitt such as the ADBL CareMitt or ProMitt, following the two-bucket method (one bucket for shampoo, one for rinsing the mitt).
4. Work panel by panel, top down, using straight overlapping passes rather than circular motions.
5. Rinse the mitt frequently in the rinse bucket to remove trapped dirt before reloading with shampoo.

Rinse and dry:

1. Rinse the vehicle thoroughly with clean water, working from top down to ensure all shampoo residue is removed.
2. Dry the paint with a clean plush microfibre drying towel, or use a blower to dry without contact.

Best practice tips:

• Use every 3rd or 4th wash on a coated or waxed vehicle. For routine weekly washes, alternate with a pH-neutral shampoo like Snowball or Shampoo Be Neutral.
• Do not let the shampoo dry on the paint. Work in shaded conditions, on a cool surface, and rinse before the product has a chance to dry.
• Avoid using on a vehicle that is not yet protected with a coating or wax. The acidic pH is designed to interact with coating chemistry, so the benefit is lost on unprotected paint.
• After washing, observe the water behaviour during the rinse stage. Tighter beading and faster sheeting after the wash is a sign the coating has been refreshed.

Safety:

ADBL Shampoo Be Acid is an acidic concentrate (pH 2 to 3). Wear protective gloves and eye protection when handling the undiluted product, and avoid contact with skin and eyes. The diluted wash solution is much milder and safe for normal contact during washing, though gloves are still recommended for prolonged use. Keep out of reach of children.
