ADBL Snowball

ADBL Snowball is a pH-neutral high-foaming car shampoo built for frequent contact washing. It cleans effectively without stripping waxes, sealants, or ceramic coatings, which makes it the shampoo you reach for week in, week out rather than for specialised jobs.

The hook is balance. Snowball foams heavily and lifts road grime and traffic film, but its neutral pH (6 to 8) means it does not degrade existing protection or shorten the life of a coating. It rinses cleanly and leaves no residue or streaking, so it suits both a quick maintenance wash and a thorough weekend clean.

This is the everyday standard in the ADBL shampoo range. It is less concentrated than the Shampoo Be line, which keeps the cost per wash low and makes it forgiving to dilute by eye. For most detailers and most cars, it is the default. The Be Neutral and Be Acid shampoos exist for when you want more cleaning power per litre or a specific acidic maintenance wash, not because Snowball falls short for routine work.

Snowball vs Shampoo Be Neutral

Both are pH-neutral and coating-safe. Snowball is the everyday standard: less concentrated, lower cost per wash, ideal for regular maintenance washing. Shampoo Be Neutral is the concentrated option, with higher cleaning power per litre and a lower dose required, so it costs more per bottle but works harder on heavily soiled vehicles. Choose Snowball for routine washes on a fleet or a daily driver. Choose Be Neutral when the car comes in genuinely dirty and you want more bite without changing the pH.

Snowball vs Shampoo Be Acid

These are not interchangeable. Snowball is a neutral shampoo for any vehicle on any wash. Shampoo Be Acid is acidic and used every third or fourth wash on coated or waxed cars specifically to restore beading and hydrophobic behaviour. Use Snowball as your standard wash, and reach for Be Acid only as periodic maintenance on protected paint.

Pre-wash

1. Rinse the vehicle thoroughly with water to remove loose dirt and grit, working from top to bottom.
2. For best results, apply a pre-wash snow foam such as ADBL Yeti and allow it to dwell, then rinse before contact washing.

Wash

1. Add 50ml of Snowball to 10L of water in a clean wash bucket. Agitate to build foam.
2. Use the two-bucket method: one bucket with shampoo solution, one with clean rinse water and a grit guard.
3. Wash from the top of the vehicle down, using a clean wash mitt such as ADBL Caremitt.
4. Rinse the mitt in the clean-water bucket between panels to keep grit out of the wash solution.

Rinse and dry

1. Rinse the vehicle thoroughly with clean water from top to bottom.
2. Dry with a clean microfibre drying towel or use a filtered blower.

Dilution Guide

Standard maintenance wash: 50ml per 10L (approx 1:200)
Lightly soiled or quick wash: reduce dose slightly for a lighter foam

 Best practice tips

• Do not let the shampoo dry on the paintwork, especially in direct sun or on a warm panel. Work panel by panel and rinse before it flashes off.
• Snowball is forgiving on dilution, but a properly foamed bucket gives better lubrication and reduces the risk of marring during contact.
• For coated cars, Snowball is safe as your regular wash. Alternate with Shampoo Be Acid every third or fourth wash if you want to maintain peak beading.
• Keep the cap sealed and store away from heat and sunlight. Do not let it freeze, as freezing can affect the formula.

Safety

Snowball is not classified as a dangerous good for transport. It can cause serious eye damage on direct contact, so wear eye protection when handling the concentrate and avoid splashing.
