Description

ADBL PRO Slip is a concentrated slip solution for installing paint protection film (PPF), colour change wrap film and window tint. Mixed with demineralised water, it lets film slide into position without damaging the adhesive or leaving streaks. You can dilute it anywhere from 1:500 to 1:50, so one bottle covers everything from flat panels to tight, high-tension areas.

Many installers still make their own slip solution from water and baby shampoo. It works, but the strength is hard to keep consistent, and some shampoos leave residue that affects adhesion. PRO Slip is made for film work. It mixes to a measured strength every time, rinses off with cold water and leaves no deposits on the adhesive.

What it does

  • Keeps the film slippery on unfinished areas so you can keep adjusting while you work
  • Reduces adhesive pulling and lines when you lift and reposition film
  • Rinses off cleanly with cold water
  • Helps water clear from under the film faster, which speeds up the whole install

Suitable for

  • Paint protection film (PPF)
  • Colour change wrap film
  • Window tint

PRO Slip vs ADBL PPF Gel
PRO Slip is the everyday slip solution for spraying across the panel and the film. PPF Gel is a thicker gel for the hard parts of a job: mirrors, extruded trim and complex shapes where you need the film to stay put while you stretch it. Many installers run PRO Slip for the bulk of a car and switch to the gel for the difficult areas.

Directions for Use

Dilution guide
Standard installs: 5 ml per 1 L of demineralised water
High-tension areas or when you need longer working time: 10 to 15 ml per 1 L of demineralised water
Above 20°C: increase the amount of PRO Slip, as the solution dries faster in heat

Preparation

  1. Mix PRO Slip with demineralised water in a clean spray bottle at the strength you need.
  2. Spray the solution onto both sides of the film, the topcoat and the liner. This removes dust and neutralises static. Squeegee it off with a silicone squeegee.
  3. Spray the panel you are covering and squeegee it off to remove dust and loose dirt. Repeat if needed.

Application
4. As you peel the liner off, spray the solution directly onto the adhesive side of the film.
5. Spray the panel again just before laying the film.
6. Place the film, position it, then squeegee out the solution from between the film and the paint.

Finishing the edges
7. To close up the edges, flush out any remaining slip solution with demineralised water. You can add 20% isopropyl alcohol (IPA) to help the edges grab.

Best practice tips

  • Use demineralised water, not tap water. Minerals in tap water can leave spots and contamination trapped under the film.
  • Start at 5 ml per litre and adjust from there. Too much slip makes the film hard to anchor and slows down tacking.
  • Mix fresh on hot days and use the stronger ratio. Heat flashes off water quickly, and the film can grab before you are ready.
  • Keep a separate bottle of PPF Gel for mirrors and complex trim, where a spray solution runs off too quickly.

Safety
Keep out of reach of children. Avoid contact with eyes.
