Description

ADBL PPF Gel is a water-based installation gel for paint protection film (PPF). It gives you a long working time and precise control when you position film on difficult panels. It is roughly 99% water with added slip agents. That means you can slide and reposition film without the adhesive grabbing too early.

Standard slip solution, made from water and a few drops of baby shampoo, runs off vertical panels and dries quickly. On complex shapes, that leaves you rushing. PPF Gel stays where you put it, so you have time to stretch film around mirrors, sharp body lines and raised or extruded trim without the adhesive lifting or pulling.

Where it works best

  • Wrapping mirror caps and other compound curves
  • Stretching film over raised edges, badge recesses and extruded trim
  • Installs where exact positioning matters, such as headlights and bumper edges
  • Gloss black trim and screens, where you need a fast, clean install
  • Near rubber seals, where it helps stop dirt washing out from under the seal and onto the film

Directions for Use

Preparation

  1. Clean and decontaminate the panel thoroughly before installing film.
  2. Decide on your dilution. Use it neat for the most working time on complex shapes. Dilute up to 1:3 (1 part gel to 3 parts water) for larger, simpler panels.

Application
3. Apply an even layer of gel to the panel and to the adhesive side of the film.
4. Position the film, then slide and stretch it into place. Reapply gel if the surface starts to dry before you finish.
5. Once the film is positioned, anchor it and squeegee out the gel as normal.

After installing
6. Rinse away any excess gel from the surrounding area with clean water.
7. Dry the surface around the working area thoroughly.

Best practice tips

  • Use it neat on mirrors and tight curves. The extra working time is where this product earns its place.
  • Mix only what you need for the day. A clean bottle and fresh mix reduce the risk of contamination getting under the film.
  • Working near rubber seals? Apply gel along the seal edge first. This stops dirt seeping out from under it and getting trapped beneath the film.
  • Do not skip drying the surrounding area. Leftover gel on the edges can attract dust before the film settles.

Safety
Keep out of reach of children. Avoid contact with eyes.
